Austin Nichols is working with a well-respected, private, and growing leader in the metal fabrication, component manufacturing and assembly industry who has an immediate need for a Site Buyer.  This organization has two unique operating companies, with six manufacturing locations, which makes them the largest integrated fabricator in the US.   Fabrication, stamping, and welding are the core services provided to their customers.

The Site Buyer will be responsible for the following:
 
  • Maintaining inventory levels that are not currently being managed by the materials production group. This would include some spot buy opportunities and placing orders against vendor contracts. 
  • Standard use of (Syteline) MRP system to evaluate items to order and order quantities.
  • Developing and maintaining Supplier relationships ensuring that supply chain is stable and both value and quality is managed correctly.
  • Working with plant and vendors on quality, delivery and other issues that may arise.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
  • Reporting including the use of Syteline reporting system to track and monitor quality and on-time delivery. 
  • Collaborating with other company departments and customer teams to develop strategic growth plans and play a key role in executing those plans. 
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in Purchasing, Analytics or Product Management required
  • Previous metals purchasing experience is required
  • Deep knowledge of metals markets and supply chain is required
  • Experience managing freight is preferred
  • Experience setting up Kanban systems is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
 
Salary: $50-65K DOE Relocation is available
